# The car record and photos

Every market has the same keys. What the source does not provide is null, never a guess. Whatever only the source has is in raw.

## Record fields

| Field | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| `id` | source:source_id, stable for good. |
| `market, source` | kr · encar, cn · che168, us · copart \| iaai |
| `title` | Year, make, model and trim in one line. |
| `brand, model` | In Latin script; the make and model family are spelled the same in every market (Hyundai Grandeur, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 3 Series). Regional names of one car stay as the market writes them (Korea's Avante is the Elantra of the USA and China); a name the market does not have finds the car under the local one: model=Sedona in Korea is the Carnival. |
| `generation` | Korea only: Encar's name with the generation and facelift (The New Grandeur IG, E-Class W213, 5 Series (G30)); null in other markets. |
| `trim` | The version: Encar's badge in Korea, Che168's full name in China, the variant in the USA (C 300, 328i, RX 350). |
| `year, mileage_km, engine_cc` | Numbers; mileage in kilometres. |
| `fuel, transmission, body_type, color` | Canonical English values; the list is in [/v1/references/dictionaries](https://apiauto.space/en/docs/endpoints/references/). |
| `vin` | When the source provided it. |
| `price` | {amount, currency} — the price in the market's currency (US: the buy-now price or the final bid of a sold lot; the running bid is in raw.bid). |
| `price_usd` | The same price in dollars at the ECB daily rate. |
| `location` | {country, region, city} |
| `photos, photo_count` | Signed photo links and their number. |
| `listing_url` | The listing at the source (null for the US). |
| `is_active, first_seen_at, last_seen_at, disappeared_at, updated_at` | Status and times in UTC. |
| `raw` | Source fields as they are, including the original spellings (raw.source_values). |

## Photos

Links in photos are signed and work for about a day — keep the car id, not the link, and fetch a fresh record when needed. Photos are served by our server from a cache; when our server cannot reach a photo's host, /img answers with a redirect to the original — follow redirects. /img requests are free.
