The cars in the responses are real, from the catalog when the site was built; photos are cut to two and event ids are made up.

Encar fields in raw

Whatever only Encar has stays in the raw object as it is: nothing is dropped.

Field	Meaning
`sell_type`	Sale type: a normal sale, a rental or a lease. Rentals and leases may show less than the full price.
`has_accident`, `has_inspection`, `has_vin`	Listing flags as Encar sends them.
`condition`, `trust`, `service_mark`	Encar marks: available reports, warranty, diagnosis (e.g. EncarDiagnosisP1).
`form_year`	Year and month as YYYYMM, as on Encar.
`badge`, `badge_detail`	The trim as written on Encar, in Korean.
`office_city`	The seller's city, in Korean.
`source_values`	Original spellings of make, model, trim, fuel and region.
`fx`	The rate behind `price_usd`: date, source (ECB), currency.

The full list with car counts is GET /v1/references/brands?market=kr, a make's models are in /v1/references/models. References are free and never touch the quota.

New cars and price changes

The feed GET /v1/changes?market=kr&since=… returns events: new cars (added), cars taken off sale (disappeared), price drops and rises (price_drop, price_up) above a percentage threshold. A site or a bot learns about new arrivals without rereading the whole catalog. The feed comes with Pro, Max and the demo; each event costs one record.

Encar data boundaries

A VIN on about 0.1% of cars: checking Korean cars' history by VIN through the API will not work.
The source has no transmission or engine size.
Usually four photos, from Encar search.
Rentals and leases may show less than the full price — see raw.sell_type.
Cars taken off sale stay in the API for 14 more days with is_active=false.
The age of the copy comes in the X-Data-Age-Seconds header of every answer.

Your own Encar scraper or an API

A scraper of your own gives full control, but you keep it alive: blocks, site changes, translating Korean names, storing photos. An API takes that work away but returns only what is in the record and in raw. A scraper or a ready API — compared point by point.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the official Encar API?

No. apiauto.space is not affiliated with Encar. Encar has no open API for third-party developers, so its data is usually taken by scraping the site. We keep a copy of the catalog and serve it in one format through our own API.

Do I need a Korean proxy or IP?

No. Requests go to our API, not to Encar, and the key works from any country. Photos are served by our server too.

How often are Encar cars refreshed?

The Encar copy is refreshed on a schedule, hourly by target. The data age comes in the X-Data-Age-Seconds header of every answer; current market freshness is in /v1/references/markets.

Is the data in English?

Makes and models are in Latin script, field values are canonical English, and the original Korean spellings are in raw.source_values.

May I show Encar cars on my site?

Yes, in your own product and to your customers, photos included. Reselling the data and full dumps need an Enterprise agreement (offer, section 6).

How much does the Encar API cost?

The Start plan is $59 a month for one market, e.g. Korea only: 100,000 cars a month. The quota counts cars returned, not requests; references and photos are free. The demo is one day and 100 requests, free.
